GUM horizontal moulding machines for elastomers
IMG’s horizontal moulding machines for elastomers belong to the GUM family and are available with 3 mould clamping types: Hydroblock, toggle, toggle and Hydroblock (with piston). Each of these 3 clamping systems is available with 3 injection units: reciprocating screw injection, screw + piston injection and FIFO injection.
The reciprocating screw injection system is the most requested type by IMG customers, because it is extremely versatile. The screw + piston injection system is recommended for production involving large quantities of raw material (rubber). The third system, the FIFO injection system, is smaller in size than the other two and allows the creation of a machine with compact final dimensions, particularly suitable for customers with reduced space availability. FIFO stands for “first in-first out”. This type of injection ensures that the raw material entering the chamber is always the first to be injected through the nozzle, so the material used is always the most recent.
In our horizontal rubber machines, the moving platen is self-guided on the base with recirculating bearing guides and an automatic grease unit. The reaction head and the cylinder-cutter supports have recirculating bearing guides. IMG’s horizontal rubber machines are equipped with “free” moving platen columns and square heating platens with chamfer, with corresponding insulating plates.
